Learning objectives
  • to understand the importance of vegetable for human daily diet;
  • to learn how to create, manage and mantain different types of educational gardens for children;
  • to understand how plant families are linked and what season each should be planted and harvested in;
  • to understand how to prepare seedlings and gain knowledge on how to use gardening tools;
  • to learn how to manage health and safety when working with children in a garden.
The teacher will be able to
  • use gardening tools, to gain a knowledge of regional plants and how to work with them;
  • to have the ability to translate technical information to young people and share knowledge of garden construction with children to ensure the gardens sustainability;
  • develop management and organisational skills, to evaluate the process of implementing soil and soil-less gardens.
